Travel to the Islands of Hawai’i and you might be caught off guard when someone offers you POG. Once you get to know this famous drink, you’ll be hooked and ready to make this easy POG juice recipe at home!
Planning a visit to the islands? Be sure to check out some of Hawaii’s best foods to try when you’re there!

POG juice is a special offering on many flights into the islands and high-end resorts often welcome guests with a chilled glass of this delicious beverage and a fresh flower lei.
What is POG juice?
POG is an acronym for the ingredients in this famous Hawaii drink: Passion fruit, orange, and guava. A favorite in the islands since the 1970s, this combination of fruit flavors is iconic and only available in grocery stores in Hawaii and — sparsely — along the west coast.
Here’s the thing, though. Those commercially packaged half gallon and gallon containers (often the Meadow Gold brand in its recognizable red carton) identify sugar as the number one ingredient. Yikes.
Making this POG juice recipe at home allows the fresh fruit flavors to shine!
What’s the deal with POG and Disney?
The folks at Walt Disney World know a good thing when they taste it! Sometimes referred to as Jungle Juice, Disney parks feature POG in some of their popular cocktail drink recipes

Ingredients
Passion fruit juice: Also known as liliko’i in the Islands of Hawaii, this juice has a deliciously sweet and tangy tropical flavor. If you have access to fresh fruit, you can make your own passionfruit juice or seek out 100% juice at your favorite grocer.
Orange juice: This ingredient will be the easiest for residents of the U.S. to source! Choose your favorite 100% juice brand.
Guava juice: Also called guava nectar, this pink juice uses fresh fruit from the prolific guava tree.
If you’re having trouble finding these tropical juices locally, search for the Ceres brand of exotic juices, sometimes sold at World Market stores or online.

Making this Delicious POG Juice Recipe
Happy news: It couldn’t be easier to replicate the flavors of the Hawaiian Islands. It’s a simple mix and serve recipe. Combine equal parts passion fruit juice, orange juice, and guava juice in a pitcher and chill and serve over ice. Stir in a jigger of rum if you like!
